Job Description:

We’re looking for a multi-talented full-stack Senior Software Engineer with leadership experience to join our A+ global engineering team. Our technology stack is built on modern web and audio-video platforms and our solution provides real time communication services to a marquee list of customers across the world helping them improve customer satisfaction and better sales conversion by providing real time expert help.

Our engineers work in small teams and influence the direction of our products. In the role, you will provide technical leadership to the engineering team, with significant code level
management, including overseeing and working with our offshore partner teams, and leading their projects. You will be challenged to work across full software application stack – from the front-end components to the back-end. You will be part of an agile engineering team that brings our offering to global customers and new markets by building, integrating, testing, and releasing new features and products. In this role, there will be ample opportunities to grow into software management and/or software architect level career paths.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively assist customers with technical issues that may arise with their solution implementation. Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis. Identify and provide timely workarounds and solutions when possible, to meet customer’s business needs.
  • Reproduce in house when possible and file engineering tickets. Work with engineering and product management to prioritize as customer advocate to get resolutions in next release.  When possible, analyze code and participate in engineering processes to develop and deploy defect fixes as service packs/hotfixes.
  • Constantly stay ahead in communicating with customers. Manage expectations properly to avoid escalations. Be a strong voice of customers during engineering planning.
  • Assist through release cycles in testing new features, enhancements and defect fixes. Provide backup to DevOps during release days to handle any incoming issues as the release rolls out to the field.
  • Assist Client Services teams with technical solutions in new client implementations.
  • Participate as key technical lead in Gold Support offerings to customers that may include minor product enhancements or report development.
  • Provide some level of desktop support to local Boston based team.  Assist other teams such as sales & marketing with technical issues, as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major
  • 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience designing and building enterprise applications
  •  5+ years developing highly available SaaS applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • 3+ years leading significant engineering projects and teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and anticipate business requirements and design systems with customer and end-user at the forefront
  • Strong C# development and debugging skills, and an understanding of the overall .NET ecosystem. Additional experience with other stacks such as Java, RoR, Node.js, PHP etc. is a strong plus
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server including schema design, SQL, stored procedures, and working with object relational mappers. Additional experience with other databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle is a strong plus
  • Experience developing back-end services (service layer, business layer, data access, microservices)
  • Front-end development experience (HTML5, Javascript, CSS) along with experience working with one of Angular, React or Vue front-end frameworks is required
  • Experience working with agile tools such as Bitbucket (Git), Jira, Confluence is required
  • Experience with audio-video technology (Flash, WebRTC, WebSockets) is a major plus
  • Experience with Microsoft’s ASP.NET MVC and SignalR library is a strong plus
  • Experience using and working with chatbot frameworks such Google Dialogflow or
  • Microsoft Bot Framework is nice to have
  • Any mobile (Android/iOS/React Native/Cordova) development experience is also nice to
    have
  • Any MacOS application development experience is nice to have
